The young stars of Stranger Things were missing Millie Bobby Brown and Caleb McLaughlin.

As Vanity Fair notes, the star wore a pin to the MTV Movie and TV Awards this year to support the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation's "Together" movement.

'I have split my knee cap so from the doctors orders, he told me to rest up and that means I won't be attending the MTV Awards'. "I have split my kneecap", Brown said with her crutches in view.

Individually, Millie is up for the Best Actor in a Show and the Best Kiss Award for her smooch with co-star Finn Wolfhard.

Millie, of course, announced on Instagram because she deactivated her Twitter account earlier in the week after being the subject of cyber bullying - users posted memes depicting the teen actress as homophobic. She added, "I'll be there in spirit". She hasn't tweeted from the account since December 2017.

Because the show is pre-taped, fans have to sit tight and count down the days until they see their favorite on-screen stars take home golden popcorn statues, but if you need something to hold you over in the meantime, simply direct your attention to the event's red carpet. She quit the social media app after becoming the target of a wave of satirically homophobic memes.

But despite the social media backlash, the young starlet remains on Instagram and boasts a strong almost 17 million followers.
