Neville has suggested that Jurgen Klopp's men should shift their focus away from the Champions League if they are to win the league title at the end of the season.

Liverpool have beaten what has been put in front of them so far but this fixture represents a step up; a defining test.

Spurs are looking to bounce back from a surprise defeat against Watford last time out whilst Liverpool are hoping to maintain their 100% start to the Premier League season.

"Everyone knows I'm no Liverpool fan but I respect, understand and appreciate what's going on there", he said.

"The most hard [thing] is when you don't have a lot of players", said Klopp.

Going through his team to talkSPORT, Cundy began at the back: "In terms of who's going to play this weekend you can not put Michel Vorm in that team so Liverpool get the goalkeeper's spot. That is a massive lesson for everyone, he was the first to tell me he made a mistake". How do you prepare a game and not focus on it?

"I don't want to be too critical as I don't know exactly how he said it, but it's a bit silly, sitting in an office talking about football, it's different to doing the job".

"To focus on one competition can only be if you are already out, or almost out, or if it's late in the season".

Unlike Spurs' England contingent, Klopp has bedded captain Jordan Henderson slowly back into action, while Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane's early exits in Russian Federation with Egypt and Senegal meant they had a few weeks of pre-season training. We get so much information, we can see how the players react in different situations. I think that's what let Liverpool down in the past - they had to play well to win, whereas now they look a lot more solid defensively and can still attack and score goals.

"I don't like to compare players but we had similar question about Robbo and Oxlade and I'm not sure if Sadio (Mane) played from the beginning, but I think he had a full pre-season", Klopp added.
