A day after addressing the General Assembly, U.S. President Donald Trump will lead a discussion Wednesday at the Security Council on weapons of mass destruction.

In a blunt attack on China, Trump told the council that Beijing was attempting to interfere in the upcoming elections, hoping to see him suffer a setback because of his tough line on trade.

At no point on Wednesday did the president make similar pronouncements about Russian Federation, which the USA intelligence community long ago accused of engaging in a coordinated influence campaign to boost Mr. Trump's chances of being elected in 2016.

"They respect what I've done", Trump said Wednesday.

Bolton said that Russia, China, Iran, and North Korea are the "four countries that we're most concerned about" when it comes to the 2018 elections.

President Donald Trump speaks during the United Nations Security Council briefing on counter-proliferation at the United Nations in NY on the second day of the UN General Assembly, Sept. 26, 2018.

"We're going to take care of Venezuela, if he's here and he wants to meet, it was not on my mind, it was not on my plate, but if I can help people that's what I'm here for".

China's foreign minister addressed Trump's allegations before the UNSC and denied China is working to interfere in the 2018 midterms, adding that Beijing refuses to accept "any unwarranted accusations" against it.

He also emphasized that the USA is pushing other countries to violate the Iran deal, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), and that it is threatening all countries and worldwide organizations with punishment if they comply with Security Council Resolution 2231, which endorsed the JCPOA.

Europe, Russia and China deliberately set themselves up to clash with Trump earlier this week as they announced plans to create new payment channels to facilitate business with Iran.

Trump smiled and said, "I didn't expect that reaction, but that's okay".

Rouhani also said "America must think again about her presence in the region, in the Persian Gulf, in the Sea of Oman, in Afghanistan, in Iraq and other places". He also said he has received historical levels of defence funding, along with emphasising that USA unemployment was low.

On Tuesday Dan Coats, the US Director of National Intelligence, warned a cyber conference about China's online activities, and described Chinese President Xi Jinping has been "among the most active foreign states conducting cyber activities against United States interests". "They were laughing with me".

"If you look at Mr Pillsbury, the leading authority on China", Trump told a press conference in New York Wednesday.

"We stop negotiation for now, acting tit for tat, roll out corresponding policies, hold public opinion at a good level without escalating it, limit scope, and strike accurately and carefully, splitting apart different domestic groups in United States", the propaganda memo stated.

He called Monday's decision by the five other signatories to the agreement who still support it _ Russia, China, Britain France and Germany _ to establish a financial facility in the European Union to facilitate payments for Iranian imports and exports "a very good step forward".
