Last season, Reid started 12 of 13 games played, registering 66 tackles, two interceptions, four passes defensed and one fumble recovery.

The unsung hero in the Eric Reid signing is the NEW owner of the Carolina Panthers who's changing team culture in a BIG way.so says Panthers legend Jon Beason.

Carolina Panthers general manager Marty Hurney and coach Ron Rivera have been open about looking for players to fill the safety position after Da'Norris Searcy was placed on injured reserve.

"He's a physical safety with good ball skills and he makes plays and he has experience", Hurney said.

Judge Andrew Napolitano, Fox News senior judicial analyst, on Colin Kaepernick filing a grievance against National Football League team owners.

The former LSU standout safety also was in talks with the Tennessee Titans before flight issues led to the team's signing of former New Orleans Saints safety Kenny Vaccaro.

After the season, Reid - like Kaepernick - had suspiciously not been signed by any team.

In March, Reid said he wouldn't take a knee during the anthem once he's back on the field. I say 'during, ' because it's insane that the narrative changed to we were protesting the anthem, and that wasn't the case.

"Honestly I don't really know". Shortly after that, National Football League reporter Jim Trotter revealed the San Francisco 49ers made a strong run to bring back Reid earlier this week prior to his decision to join the Panthers. I think (Kaepernick) is a good player.

Reid was a 2013 Pro Bowl selection, and Sherman isn't surprised a team finally came to its senses, but he didn't find it noteworthy due to when the signing happened.

Financial terms of Reid's one-year contract with the franchise were not immediately available. He said the Panthers "just got better having him on their squad".

According to a report by Jim Trotter, Carolina didn't even ask Reid if he plans to continue demonstrating.

"Honestly, with our injuries I hope he ends up here, " Smith said.

The Panthers are now on bye and will next play against the New York Giants at Bank of America Stadium at 1p next Sunday.
