There is also the question of fingerprint scanner as the Mate 20 Pro is equipped with in-display fingerprint scanner while the standard Mate 20 model offers a traditional fingerprint scanner on its back.
Confirming rumours from the past few weeks, Huawei has introduced the world's first Nano memory card, which is claimed to be 45 percent smaller than the microSD card. All conclusions preliminary pending full Huawei Mate 20 Pro review.
Earlier reports said that Huawei is expected to launch the Mate 20, Mate 20 Pro, Mate 20X, Mate 20 Porsche edition and a new smartwatch. There's no word yet on Huawei Mate 20 or Mate 20 Pro price in India and release date. Buyers will be able to choose between Emerald Green, Midnight Blue, Black, Pink Gold, and Twilight color options.
The Mate 20 is priced at €799 (Rs 68,000 approximately) for 4GB RAM with 128GB storage variant, and €849 (Rs 72,100 approximately) for 6GB RAM with 128GB storage. It runs Android Pie out of the box. The phone is powered by a HiSilicon Kirin 980 7nm SoC with dual AI processor. The phone is tipped to come with 6GB of RAM and a 4,200mAh battery.
The smartphones are expected to sport a metal and glass unibody design and are also said to come with triple rear camera setup powered by Leica. The Mate 20 features 16-megapixel ultra wide angle, 12-megapixel, wide angle, and 8-megapixel telephoto sensors. The Mate 20 Pro, on the other hand, features a 6.39-inch curved OLED QHD+ display.
Other odds and ends include an IP53 dust and water resistance rating, 40MP cameras, and a fingerprint sensor on the back.
However, with the Mate 20 series, Huawei has dropped the monochrome camera - a mainstay in their predecessors, which takes in more light for better low-light photos. One is a 16MP ultra-wide angle 17mm lens, another is a 12MP wide-angle 27mm lens and the third is an 8MP 2x telephoto 52mm lens. These sensors are coupled with LED flash and Super HDR. It also comes with 3D Live Emoji, with support for GIF and MP4 files. The Mate 20 Pro supports 40W fast wired charging (up to 70% charge in 30 minutes) while the Mate 20 supports 22W fast wired charging, and both models support 15W fast wireless charging. In terms of connectivity, the handset offers 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, and a USB Type-C port.
