LeBron James #23 of the Los Angeles Lakers and Dwyane Wade #3 of the Miami Heat talk after exchanging jerseys, in Wade's last regular season game visit to Staples Center on December 10, 2018. The two players entered the league together in 2003 and forged a close bond that saw them become teammates with the Heat from 2010 to 2014 and with the Cavaliers last season.

Though Brown would also discuss his current role with the Celtics, the third-year shooting guard had no issue giving time to the topic of Wade and James, two players who Brown looked up to during his trek to the National Basketball Association. He passed a major milestone in that procession when he lined up against LeBron James for the final time in the Los Angeles Lakers' 108-105 victory.

The two icons embraced at the buzzer before swopping jerseys in a mutual show of respect to mark the "bittersweet" moment on Monday. As seen in the photo embedded below, Wade wrote a personal message on the sneakers that reads: "I love the way you play the game".

After the game, Wade shared a sentimental post on Instagram, which thanked James and his teammate Udonis Haslem for making him all-around better.

"Especially for the first seven years and then we got together". "'Me and you one on one, just let me shoot it and go for it'". "I know he has more games, but that's the last one for us".

"There's no better way to end it than here. That's the only place we could end it at, man", James said.

The Heat guard also paid an emotional tribute to James, saying: "It's tough".

"You're talking about generational Hall of Fame players". A pair of National Basketball Association icons that will go down as rivals, teammates and best friends. I'm just so grateful to have been drafted at the same time as this guy.

LeBron didn't miss. Dwyane didn't really expect him to.

In what was their 31st head-to-head meeting, James' team emerged victorious for a 16th time, however he was quick to praise the impact Wade has had on his career over the past 16 years.
