Former Miami Dolphins coach Adam Gase takes over at New York Jets

The Jets have finally picked their new head honcho. I also think sometimes it's a good thing when you really have to reflect on. "I think that wil rub off on a lot of the guys.I'm super pumped about this whole thing and couldn't be more stoked for the opportunity". The latter two were about as opposite in style as two quarterbacks can be, and in 2015 Cutler had the best passer rating (92.3) and one of the best interception rates of his career (2.3 percent) with Gase as Chicago Bears' offensive coordinator. I think he's going to make a huge leap next year. Per Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News, Peyton Manning sent along an endorsement of Gase to team CEO Christopher Johnson. Gase, who ran the Dolphins the last three years, is believed to be the right man to steer prized QB Sam Darnold in the right direction. And when Ryan Tannehill was healthy in his first season as Dolphins head coach, he led his team to the playoffs with a 10-6 record.

The former Packers coach refused to interview with the Cleveland Browns, according to ESPN.

The franchise's hope is that the combination of Gase and Darnold will be able to get there someday soon.

The Jets met with seven other coaches about their vacancy, including Mike McCarthy, Kris Richard, Jim Caldwell, Eric Bieniemy, Todd Monken, Matt Rhule and Kliff Kingsbury, who took the Arizona Cardinals job. "I think we can take this a long way".

Perhaps Gase can help Darnold pick up where he left off in 2019.
