Michael Owen states his prediction for West Ham v Arsenal

Marko Arnautovic wants West Ham to accept the £35m bid from an unnamed Chinese club to allow him to "challenge for titles" but has been told he is not for sale.

The Austria global has scored eight goals in 17 matches this season having moved from Stoke City to the Hammers in 2017 for around £20 million.

The West Ham chief then proceeded to repeatedly and somewhat manically stress his delight that the whole issue was absolutely and definitely closed.

The 29-year-old has a contract with the Hammers until the end of 2022 but a fee of £35 million would represent a profit for the London club.

As Gold strained to produce a series of throaty chuckles, assembled journalists asked him why Arnautovic had recently began learning Mandarin, purchased property in China and asked for his latest month's wages to be paid in Yuan.

Arnautovic has been a key performer under Manuel Pellegrini this season, scoring seven times in 15 Premier League appearances.

West Ham should be keeping Arnautovic in an ideal world given he's a major presence in attack, but teammates Javier Hernandez, Lucas Perez or Andy Carroll are not putting serious pressure on him for a starting position.

It is understood that Manuel Pellegrini's side don't want to lose talisman Arnautovic amid £36million interest from the Chinese Super League, but he does turn 30 this year.

Since arriving from Stoke City in summer 2017, Arnautovic has established himself as a key player at West Ham.

Within minutes, a clearly irked West Ham responded by simply saying: 'Marko has a contract and we fully expect him to honour it.

Will be hard to replace but i trust Pellegrini to do it. [tomster36]This whole thing about Arnautovic is annoying!

But West Ham could enter the race to bring in Wilson as their replacement for star man Arnautovic.

He said: They are rumours. But we need to hear also what the player wants, what the club wants and I'm not talking about Marko Arnautovic, I'm talking in general.

'I am sure his head will be in the game against Arsenal and it will not affect his performance'. Callum Wilson is believed to be their primary target, but it would likely take a huge offer to prise him away from Bournemouth.

Until he is no longer a West Ham player, he will give everything to the club. At the moment we have no news about him. I don't think they will go.
