We're live this morning at Chase Field talking with WWE champion and Valley resident Daniel Bryan to preview the Royal Rumble on Sunday.

Lesnar beat Finn Balor for the WWE Universal Championship, forcing Finn to tap out in their match. He won a fatal-4-way match two weeks ago to become the official number one contender for the Universal title.

As first revealed on WWE Now this afternoon, John Cena will not compete in the Men's Royal Rumble Match tonight due to his ankle injury.

The Royal Rumble pay-per-view will begin at 5 p.m. EST on Sunday, January 27 with the kickoff show. He was lucky that The Boss did not fire him.

Alexa Bliss confirms that the victor of the Royal Rumble match will pick which champion they will face at Wrestlemania. It was nearly after three years that he was competing in a title match at a PPV event.

The match slowed down as matches often do during Brock Lesnar matches. The punishment continued for Balor as he received another suplex on the floor.

Bobby Roode & Chad Gable def. Rezar & Scott Dawson via pinfall in a non-title match (Kickoff Show): This unannounced match would have resulted in a future tag team title opportunity for both AOP and The Revival should the Raw tag team champions have been defeated.

The Royal Rumble gimmick persevered beyond every major talent in company history until a 2014/15/16 shattrick that - with good intentions every time - managed to infuriate audiences, trigger cancellation trends and beat them into submission with Triple H's unexpected umpteenth Championship reign, respectively.
