What happened: As I reported Sunday night, Disney and Marvel dropped a 30-second trailer for the upcoming "Avengers: Endgame", which featured a handful of characters last seen in "Avengers: Infinity War". It takes place after Infinity War though Marvel Studio representatives have not yet confirmed whether it is post-Endgame or not.
The highly-anticipated superhero adventure will bring Phase Three of the Marvel Cinematic Universe to a close, and is set in the aftermath of the devastating events of 2018's Avengers: Infinity War. That doesn't mean we have to like it, but at least it's on brand for them.
In the beginning, shots of the New York City skyline and Citi Field are shown.
In that scene, we can see Iron Man and Nebula fixing the space ship that they are in.
Tony Stark was on Titan when Thanos snapped and killed the majority of the people out there with him. I'm leaning towards the latter, as there doesn't seem to be a point in removing Ant-Man from the shot.
Then there are shots of Carol flying a fighter jet, her training on the Kree planet at the hands of Jude Law's still mysterious character, and so on.
Considering trailers and teasers for Infinity War were constructed exclusively for advertising purposes and not actually in the film, Marvel Studios may have digitally erased someone in that scene to not spoil a surprise.
We'll know for sure how long Endgame ends up being when the film is released on April 26.
The Super Bowl across the pond is traditionally the time for the big movies on the way in the coming months to debut new trailers or TV spots.
