Visiting Washington D.C. on Monday, FCS Division I national champions North Dakota State met with Trump and toured the oval office as part of their celebratory visit to the nation's capital.

The Tigers' team was served a deluxe fast food spread, including McDonald's, Wendy's and Burger King.

But "I know you people very well", Trump said.

During the 2016 campaign, it was said that the four major food groups onboard Donald Trump's private plane were "McDonald's, Kentucky Fried Chicken, pizza and Diet Coke".

The government's back open, but Mr. Trump stuck to his high-calorie menu, saying it's people-pleasing stuff made by American companies. Trump called them a tremendously talented team.

In January, with the White House kitchen staff furloughed due to the grinding shutdown of the federal government, the president served a similar meal to the Clemson University football team.

The team's visit with Trump began at 12:17 p.m., according to reporters in attendance, as the president entered alongside Vice President Mike Pence, and started shaking hands with the football players.

The Bison defeated Eastern Washington in January, 38-24, to win their second straight title.

"Somebody better draft him!"

"Go grab yourself something, we can eat right here", Trump told the North Dakota State Bisons.

The president is a noted fan of unhealthy comfort food, defying doctors' orders to lose weight and also boasting about how little exercise he does.

On Saturday, Head Coach Matt Entz of the NDSU Bison told the Grand Forks Herald that the visit was an important morale booster.
