Powerball also features prizes ranging from $4 to $1 million.
Players pick six numbers from two separate pools of numbers - five different numbers from 1 to 70 and one number from 1 to 25 - or select Easy Pick. There are smaller prizes for tickets with fewer of the winning numbers. A player who buys a $2 ticket has about a 1 in 11,688,053 chance to match five numbers and win at least $1 million.
Powerball is played in 44 states in the U.S., plus D.C., the U.S. Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico.
