"Nationalism is our inspiration, economic development of the poor and backward sections our philosophy, and good governance our mantra", Modi said after releasing the election manifesto at BJP headquarters in New Delhi, as supporters chanted "Modi, Modi". Congress's manifesto and Pakistan speak same language on Kashmir related issues.

However, the soft copy of the manifesto available on the party website did not contain these mistakes. "Pakistan is also saying what Congress is saying".

Several other ministers in the BJP-led government spoke on Monday, including the finance minister, Arun Jaitley, who said that the government "wants to expedite the path of progress". "The country has no expectations with Congress party but Sharad sa'ab you!" Earlier, former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister and National Conference leader Omar Abdullah had said his party will strive hard for restoring the autonomy of Jammu and Kashmir that could include having a "Sadar-e-Riyasat" (President) and "Wazir-e-Azam" (Prime Minister).

He said the Modi government was planning to set up a tribal university in the state and had also completed many railway projects pending for years in the state.

On the other hand, Modi said under the BJP's watch it was the policy of "New India" that it will kill terrorists barging into their dens. As the Indian Air Force engaged the Pakistani jets, the PAF shot down two Indian warplanes ─ one of which crashed in Azad Jammu and Kashmir ─ and captured an Indian pilot, Wing Commander Abhinandan.

The BJP also attacked the Congress for corruption and releasing a manifesto which promised amending the AFSPA and doing away with the anti-sedition law during the last leg of campaigning in the state.

Around 900 million will begin casting their votes starting on 11 April in a seven-phase polling process in India that will end with the announcement of its results on 23 May.

The national elections will see close to 900 million voters cast their ballots in almost a million polling booths - the world's biggest ever democratic exercise.

After Maharashtra's rally PM Modi will land in Karnataka's Chitradurga. Later in the evening, Modi will reach Tamil Nadu where he will take the BJP rally forward to Coimbatore.
