Welcome, This is Your Life

For Better or Worse

Today is the day you’ve waited your whole life for. You know what day that is don’t you? It’s the day that you take control of your life again. You’ve been on auto-pilot too long now, and the Universe has missed you.

So what happened? You’ve got lazy? Things got too busy? You weren’t paying attention but life started passing you by little by little, then more and more until your life no longer even seemed familiar. Sound about right?

Well, I’ve got some good news for you. You can take your life back. You can’t regain the lost years of your life, but you can make the most of the one’s that are left. All it takes is a little bit of effort. That’s it! Just some old fashioned hustle.

So what is it that you want from this life? Success? Happiness? Fame & fortune? If i told you it can be all yours if you’re willing to put in the effort, would you do it? Of course, you would. Well, it is that easy.

All it takes is a conscious decision that you want more from life. You make the choice to roll up the sleeves and get into doing what it takes to get what you want out of life. No one will or can do it for you. So you’ve got two choices: Sit idle and do nothing, or get busy making the life you want.

So, now I have another question for you. What is it that you want? What is it that will make you truly happy? And then one more, What is it going to take to get you there?

Maybe you don’t know what you want from life. That’s ok too. A lot of people go through life never really knowing, but you have a great gift standing in front of you. You’re awakened enough to know that you want more.

Well, great! Now how do you figure it out? Mindful meditation will help you realize what it is that makes you happy. And, you can do this simply by being present in your everyday life. It only takes about 5 minutes to do and its so simple that a child can do it.

5 Minute Mindful Wanting Meditation Exercise

  • Find a quiet place where you won’t be disturbed
  • Sit or lay comfortably. There’s no need for super rigid yoga poses here
  • Gently let your eyes close and remain closed
  • Take 3 slow deep breaths. In through your nose & out through your mouth
  • Let your thoughts drift as they want and try not to latch on to any of them just yet
  • Now clear your mind and ask yourself quietly, “What makes me happy?”
  • Let your mind do the work for you as you continue breathing focused on your question
  • Make a mental note of anything that stands out. The things that bring a smile to your lips I want you to make a mental note of

When you’re mind begins to repeat the things you want you can begin to open your eyes, taking a few good cleansing breaths. You should feel a bit lighter and most likely a little motivated.

Don’t examine anything just yet. I want you to write down those things that came to you. Put a star next to the ones that repeated themselves. Now you’re ready.

Make a new list putting those wants in order by ranking how important they are and take special care to notice if one is a prerequisite for another. For example, finishing that bachelor’s degree would most likely come before the new promotion starting a family perhaps would be preceded by finding true love.

Take your finished list and put it somewhere you will see it every day. Every day, you should make at least one conscious step towards those wants and goals, it doesn’t matter how big or small just that you make progress.

If you are steadfast in your determination and commitment to achieving these, then in no time at all you will find you’re leading a happier, more purpose-driven life. A life on fire if you will.

Happier people make happier workers, lovers, and friends. You deserve to be happy. And I want you to get the most happiness you can from life. Each new day is not guaranteed so we need to make each day count. So, go on and get to it. I believe in you, and I want you to be happy.
